CANADA, Nova Scotia ~ September 2025

Tuesday, we flew into Halifax, Nova Scotia for the start of our 4 week trip to Canada. Meeting up with our friends Steve and Marina at the airport, we headed to our hotel, where after freshening up, we headed down to the waterfront for a stroll along the broadwalk. It was a lovely evening and we couldn't quite believe how quiet the place was. We chose a lovely location on the seafront, sitting outside with a fire dead centre of our table, with a sea view and had a bite to eat. Fish is the real deal here.

Wednesday, after a leisurely breakfast, we headed down to the waterfront, where we picked up the 'Hopper' tour. Basically, this is a bus tour of the city, but on an amphibious craft. So we toured the city of Halifax taking in the sites and then, splashed into the sea for a tour of the sites on the waterfront. Being sat at the front, we got drenched when we launced into the sea, much to the amusement of the other people. After this, we stopped for some refreshments, before heading back to the hotel. We then had a lovely dinner in a restaurant not too far from the hotel

Thursday, we checked out of the hotel and went to collect our motorhomes, which we have hired for 2 weeks. Like most things in this country, they are huge, poor Steve and Marina, theirs is seriously big. Initially, we are following the 'Lighthouse Trail' heading off to our first location, Indian Harbour, we were rewarded with beautiful sea views and a wonderful sunset.

Friday we headed to the famous Peggy's Cove lighthouse. After this, we then headed off to our next location, Lunenburg. This was quite a scenic drive along the coast for most of the way, going through some very quaint places. We took a stroll through Lunenburg town and back along the coastal path, stopping briefly for refreshment, it's quite hilly here and warm !

Saturday we took a scenic route via the Kejimkujik National Park. Sadly all walking trails here were closed. We therefore stopped off for some lunch at Sandybottom Lake and then continued on to our next overnight stop, Beaver Creek Winery. A lovely location, with a restaurant. So naturally, we had a drink and something to eat here. It really was very relaxing after our days journey. And, it has an outdoor shower! Very refreshing in all this heat!

Sunday we started off early as we had to get to our next location, early as we were doing
were doing the Magic Winery Bus Tour in Wolfsville. We boarded an old 1967 double decker bus, that served it's time in Peckham, and headed off for 4 wineries within the Annapolis region. The first winery was our favourite, sampling a white, rose and red. We stopped for lunch at the next winery and visited a further 2. All driven around in the bus, finally ending back at Wolfville.

We arrived Monday at Fundy National Park after quite a long drive. We are here for 2 nights, so we just relaxed when we got here. It's lovely and peaceful and a great location. We are in the heart of the Park, with Fundy Bay right on our doorstep.

Tuesday we went for a lovely walk through the forest following the bay, eventually dropping down into a cove. Very peaceful here, with a handful of people out on canoes in the distrance.

When we got back, we headed into the village of Alma for dinner, although it was still quite early. The boys had lobster, which they thoroughly enjoyed. A pleasant day to end our stay here.

En-route to our next location, we stopped off at Hopewell Rocks. when the tide is out, they
are laid bare and you can walk around them. When the tide is in, all you can see is the tops of the rocks crowned with vegitation and appearing to be small islands. It actually was very spectacular. Very glad to we made a stop here to have a look.
