So here we are again. Our first stop off the ferry. It's a littlle cooler than usual, but hey, the sun is shinning and it's great to be here again. We've met up with our friends, Marina & Steve. It was planned, but we literally pulled up right behind them. Couldn't plan that if you tried. So of course once we got ourselves settled, we headed for the restaurant for food and wine!
Friday, a leisurely stroll to the waterfalls and on towards Segorbe, stopping at the ford. It was a pleasant stroll and just nice to get out in some warm weather.
Saturday, we walked up behind the campsite. It's a bit of a struggle to get to the top, but we took our time and got there. We followed the route through orchards full of blossom and down to the resevoir, which is a lot fuller than it was last year. We then followed the laveda walk back into Navajas. A lovely walk. We stopped off in town for a beer and some tapas and then headed back to camp. Later we went to the Harvey's to watch the rugby. Wow what a result. A very enjoyable day.
Monday we went for a bike ride, along the via verde with Marina & Steve, and their friends Helen and Peter. We stopped off at Jerica for some lunch and then headed back to Navajas, stopping in the town square for a beer - well, it's a steep cycle ride up to our camp site. Our friends Tony & Rita arrived here today, so we met up with them late afternoon and in the evening, we ate in the restaurant.
Tuesday, we headed off to Valencia for the day. Bit of a fiasco really, but we only had a couple of hours there which was still nice. The 6 of us took a stroll around the old town and food market. We had something to eat and then headed back to Navajas.
Wednesday, Helen and Peter moved on. Rita is unfortunately poorly. We headed down to the village, Steve & Marina joined us and we stopped for coffee & croissant and then headed back and had a BBQ, which was most enjoyable.
Thursday, we said goodbye to Marina and Steve. We decided to go for a walk and headed off past the waterfall and up to the Almond groves. This is one of our favourite walks. Stopping for a picnic and then continuing with the walk back into Navajas.
Friday, Rita is still poorly! Steve and I did a big walk, 20 miles in total. It was a really hot day and the walk was hard work. It is a walk we have done before, only we did it in reverse this time. I don't remember it being 20 miles before, we thought it was only 15! Still, it was enjoyable, but we were shattered.
Saturday, hurrah, Rita is feeling better. Steve and I took it easy today, as I'm sure you can imagine, we were a little tired after yesterday. We did pop up to for a cuppa with Rita & Tony. Hopefully we will be able to go to Segorbe tomorrow for a nice walk and a nice tapas lunch.
Sunday, sadly Rita isn't better, so Steve, Tony and I went to Segorbe. The walk is relatively flat, walking along the river. The only uphill part being getting into Segorbe and then back into Navajas. It was a lovely day and we had an enjoyable walk. We went to our usual restaurant where we had a lovely lunch. Tomorrow, Steve and I are heading off to El Berro, another village location, this is in the Sierra Espuna National Park. A lovely location. Oh and lots more walking ๐.
