Another week in Jávea- April

Friday we took a stroll up to the port area, looking actually for a restaurant recommended to us. We found it and then wandered back. In the evening, we met up with John & Pat, Vicki and Steve. Had dinner at Chabada, which was very nice. We then went to Kawana, the bar opposite the site, to see a band. A very pleasant evening. We said our goodbyes to John and Pat who are leaving tomorrow to go home.

Saturday we went to the old town and walked to the old church, which is slightly up a hill, giving nice views across the old town and out to sea. Having done this, we then went to Bar Mercat, the market bar, for some tapas.

Sunday, we had a bit of a lazy day. We had breakfast at Creme de la Creme and then absolutley nothing.

Monday, we headed off on a new bike ride. We cycled to Xaló which is inland from Jávea in the hills. It was a beautiful ride. Cycling along the gorges and following the valley. Clearly there has been a lot of rain as it was very green here. It was a bit of a tough ride as it was up hill all the way. We went through a lovely village called Lliber on to Xaló. Once we arrived there, we stopped for some tapas at a lovely quiet bar in a square right by the Church. Once we were refreshed, we headed back home, the great thing being that we had a brief climb out of Lliber and then it was down hill all the way to Jávea. A great day, although somewhat tiring. Probably the hottest day so far 😎.

Clearly on Tuesday, we had a day of rest, strolling to the port and stopping for a drink at the orange bar.

No peace for some, Wednesday we did the lighthouse walk again, although we didn't quite complete this walk as we decided to try and find a new route that Steve and Marina found which took them back down to the port. We did find a route but I don't think it's what they did. However, it was different and made it interesting.

Thursday, we tried a new restaurant that had been recommended to us by someone back home. It's up in the old town, so we took a stroll there at lunchtime to see if we could get a table. Thankfully we were early and were able to have lunch there. It was a lovely place and the food was great. It had a lovely outdoor area which was partially covered. Thoroughly recommend this place. Will certainly go back there again next year.

Gosh our time is  running out here. Friday, we went to the old town to Bar Mercat to say farewell to the people there. We then in the evening headed down to the sea front as there was a jazz fesitval on. However, it didn't start until 10pm. Sorry but that's just too late for us. So after a drink and a wander around, we decided to head back to camp.

Saturday we decided to cycle to Granadella. This is a ride we have to do come what may. It's a hard slog to get there, but it's a beautful cove. Normally we would go during the week, but we just didn't manage it so going at the weekend is not ideal. It was naturally busy, but not too bad. It was also a very hot day. So we did our usual thing, having a picnic on the beach and just relaxing and chilling. In the evening we went out with Vicki and Steve for dinner which was most enjoyable.

Sunday, we had breakfast at Creme de la Creme and then later took a stroll to Calla Barraca for a tapas lunch in the bar there on the beach. Again, another lovely little cove.
Off to Haro tomorrow, our last stop before getting the ferry home.
