Haro ~ last few days!


As always, we spend the last couple of days in Haro. It's has been incredibly hot here. Crazy 29/30 which we've not experienced before. Anyhow, after a long journey, on Thursday, we got here, set up and headed straight to the square for drinks and then to our favourite bar. Bar Beethoven. Which as I thought was closed! Anyhow, they have a restaurant that is opposite the bar that thankfully was open. This was our first time eating here. A nice pleasant and relaxing evening after our journey. Friday morning, we headed off for our walk along the river to the next village, Brinas. It's always an enjoyable walk, not too far, but the village is very 
pretty. Sadly everything was closed, so we had to just turn around and head back to Haro. We therefore stopped at the bar on site and then in the evening, we went to Bar Beethoven. Hurrah. It was open. Love this place.

Saturday we had a bit of a lazy day, just pottering around the Bodegas, buying wine and just mouching around Haro.

Sunday was yet another hot day. After a traditional breakfast in the bar, we took a stroll along the river in the other direction this time. It's a pleasant walk but it was quite busy, being a

Sunday and a nice day, there were quite a few people around. After our walk, we strolled into Haro and to Bar Beethoven for some lunch. They do quite a selection of tapas. 

So today is Monday, our last day here. Just pottering. We have a table booked tonight at Bar Beethoven for dinner. Looking forward to that very much. Then tomorrow off home.

We've had a great trip here this year, 2 new locations and lots of walks, in fact I dread to think how many miles we've walked ☺.

Granada 3rd - 10th March

  So here we are in Granada. We are about 10 miles outside of the city, up in the Guejar Sierra. This is the view from our campsite, looking over the mountains, some of which still have snow on the top. It's surprisingly wam here for this time of year. Normally, the weather has been either too cold or wet, or both!  We are here for a week to do some walking. This is a new site for us, although we have in the past visited Granada itself. It's pretty remote here, with not a lot going on other than lots of goats everywhere. That makes me happy. It's pretty quiet too but thankfully the site has a mini shop and a bar with restaurant, which has an open log fire 😊. Tuesday we decided to visit the local viallage, taking the scenic route there, which meant going up and around and dropping into the village walking down to the main square. Navajas ~ 6th - 17th February 2025

So here we are again. Our first stop off the ferry. It's a littlle cooler than usual, but hey, the sun is shinning and it's great to be here again. We've met up with our friends, Marina & Steve. It was planned, but we literally pulled up right behind them. Couldn't plan that if you tried. So of course once we got ourselves settled, we headed for the restaurant for food and wine! Friday, a leisurely stroll to the waterfalls and on towards Segorbe, stopping at the ford. It was a pleasant stroll and just nice to get out in some warm weather. Saturday, we walked up behind the campsite. It's a bit of a struggle to get to the top, but we took our time and got there. We followed the route through orchards full of blossom and down to the resevoir, which is a lot fuller than it was last year. We then followed the laveda walk back into Navajas. A lovely walk. Haro - April 2025

So here we are, our last stop before catching the ferry home. It's a long drive here, so we arrived quite late, but as soon as we got ourselves sorted, we were off out up into the square to stretch our legs and get something to eat. Naturally, we went to our favourite bar here, Bar Beethoven. You know what, it's great when you turn up a year later and you get a warm reception. We were told that we are now regulars 😊. Tuesday we decided to take it a bit easy and so we took a stroll along the river to the next village, Brinas but unfortunately they were working on the bridge, so we turned around and picked up the via verde in the other direction, following the river still. We had a very pleasant walk. The water levels here are certainly high. We know that Spain has had a very wet winter and fortunately, we've managed to avoid a lot of the rain, just had a couple of wet days on the trot, mind you, they were seriously wet days, raining non stop.
