Jávea 19th Feb ~ 3rd March 2024

We arrived on the Monday and once we'd got ourselves all set up, we met up with Rob & Lesley, who had also arrived the same day. We took a stroll to l'Arenal, the beach end of the town and had a couple of drinks and then something to eat. It was good to see them again.

Tuesday we headed off with Tony, Rita is still poorly, bless her. We did the lighthouse walk, which takes us up to the pennisular dividing Denia and Javea. This is a beautiful walk, especially now since the trees are starting to grow back after the fire that destroyed the area a few years ago. We stopped off on our way back at the Corner bar for a beer but a mist was coming in from the sea and it was quite thick and cold. So we strolled back to camp.

Wednesday, we met up with Rob and Lesley for a BBQ. These are always great fun and we always ending up playing cards.

Thursday was Tony and Rita's last day here, so we met up with them and took a stroll down to
the prom and stopped for lunch at one of the many bars/restaurants here. Funnily enough this is where we went Monday night with Rob and Lesley, ha, never been here before and now twice within a couple of days.

Friday, we met up with Rob and Lesley and went to Bar Mercat up in the old part of the town. This is one of our favourite haunts, where we had tapas. In the evening, Steve and I met up with John, Pat, Steve, Vicki, Pete and Jean for dinner in a Nepalese restaurant.

Saturday, well bit of a disappointing day really 😁. We met up with Maggie and Trevor to watch the Ireland, Wales game and then the Scotland, England game. Nothing more to be said about that ! Sunday was a bit of a wet and windy day. We met up with Rob and Lesley for cards.

Monday we took a stroll to Cala Barraca, a little cove just the other side of the Cap Prim
pennisular. It was a lovely day and an enjoyable walk, not too far and not too hard on the old legs.

Tuesday we met up with Hazel and Paul, friends that Rob and Lesley made at their last campsite. As it was their first time in Jàvea, the six of us went to Bar Mercat for tapas in the old town. We then headed down to the Port area where we stopped off at the Corner bar and then finally strolled back to l'Arenal, the beach area for a final night cap.

Wednesday Steve and I just took a stroll along the prom. We didn't do too much as we were both full of cold. There seems to be a lot going around at the moment.

Thursday we walked Cap Prim. This is one of our favourite walks. The water on either side of the pennisular is just crystal clear. It always looks so inviting, we just want to get our diving gear on and explore. Not that we are going to do that 😂

Friday, we headed off to the old town and walked to the Santa Lucia church that is up on a hill. It's a bit of a climb to get there but it gives a nice view and is very peaceful. After this we went to Bar Mercat for tapas and then headed off back home.

Saturday, we took a stroll to the Port end of Jàvea for a beer. The wind is picking up here and it has a bite to it. Still when you out of it and in the sun it's lovely, but my goodness it's gusty. Sunday another bright, sunny but windy day. We headed to Creme de la Creme for some breakfast. Early evening, we went to Rob & Lesley's to play cards. Hey, guess who won 😁
