Torrox ~ 14th - March 2024

Image
On the Friday we pottered around and then took a stroll down to Torrox Costa and strolled along the prom. We thought it seemed quite quiet, which is surprising since the campsite is pretty busy. However, it was good to have a good walk along the prom and stretch our legs after the long journey yesterday. We did stop for a little something to eat and a drink but then headed back to camp. Saturday, we strolled up to Torrox town, to meet up with Jon & Debs. We'd arranged to meet them at lunchtime for seafood paella, which was most enjoyable. It was a rather hot day though and the walk there and back was somewhat tiring. It was good, however, to catch up with them. In the evening, we stopped off at a bar near us and watched the rugby.  Sunday we met up with Brian and Jane, who have moved back to Torrox Costa. We had a stroll along the prom and then stopped for breakfast. After this we walked to their new apartment and spent some time with them before heading back to camp. We...

Last couple of days in Jávea ~ March 2024

Monday we decided to do the lighthouse walk again. It was another warm sunny day. We slightly deviated from the original walk which I think made it slightly shorter. We didn't stop for lunch either but just headed off from the port into the old town and went to Bar Mercat for tapas. After this we then just headed back to camp. Tuesday, BBQ day! We went up to Rob & Lesley's for our final BBQ before we go our separate ways. We had a game of boules first, which we won and then had a BBQ. We then had a couple of games of cards. A most enjoyable day and evening. Wednesday, we pottered around getting ourselves ready for the off tomorrow. Early evening we strolled down to the seafront, intending to go for something to eat. However, we bumped into Rob and Lesley who were out for a drink. So we joinned them for a quick drink and then we went to get something to eat. We then strolled along the prom for the last time, taking in the early evening sunset and the twinkling lights of Jàve...

Jávea 4th March - 10th

Oh dear, we've not done very well for photo's this week.  Monday, we had a quiet day and spent the evening with John and Pat, who cooked us a lovely dinner. They are leaving at the weekend, so it was nice to have the chance just the four of us to catch up. Tuesday, Steve and I decided to walk around Montgo. This involved catching the bus to Denia and then walking around the mountain and back to Jávea. It was a nice warm day and the walk was quite enjoyable, getting great views of the coast as we walked. We eventually arrived back at camp having completed 12.5 miles. We were somewhat tired but thoroughly enjoyed our day. Wednesday we headed up to Rob & Lesley's. We had a game of Boules, which we lost at. Rob then made Seafood Paella and his famous garlic bread. It was very nice. Later in the afternoon it started to get a bit cool, so we headed indoors for cards. Well, what a joyous day it was for us. Steve managed to go completely out 3 times and I also managed it. Wow, ...

We arrived on the Monday and once we'd got ourselves all set up, we met up with Rob & Lesley, who had also arrived the same day. We took a stroll to l'Arenal, the beach end of the town and had a couple of drinks and then something to eat. It was good to see them again. Tuesday we headed off with Tony, Rita is still poorly, bless her. We did the lighthouse walk, which takes us up to the pennisular dividing Denia and Javea. This is a beautiful walk, especially now since the trees are starting to grow back after the fire that destroyed the area a few years ago. We stopped off on our way back at the Corner bar for a beer but a mist was coming in from the sea and it was quite thick and cold. So we strolled back to camp. Wednesday, we met up with Rob and Lesley for a BBQ. These are always great fun and we always ending up playing cards. Thursday was Tony and Rita's last day here, so we met up with them and took a stroll down to the prom and stopped for lunch at one of the ma...
