Grassington, Yorkshire Dales ~ 16th - 23rd July 2023

We arrived Sunday after a lovely drive through the Peaks and into the Yorkshire Dales. We are here for a week and once we'd got ourselves settled, we met up with the ICA group, some people having gone home and some just arriving. So a slight change to the group. However, as is the way with the ICA, tea and cake to start the week. Later though we met again for a little tipple to celebrate Jo & Sandy's 57th wedding anniversary. Monday, Steve & I, with Bob, Neil & Judith, headed off to Bolton Abbey where we started our walk along the Wharfe river. It's quite an undulating walk to begin with through woods but flattens out as you follow the river. In parts the river was raging, with a fast current bubbling over boulders. We were lucky to see a Kingfisher flying speedily along the surface. We also saw a few Herons and Sand Martins. We then stopped for a pub lunch and met up with Clive & Sue, who then walked the rest of the way back to Grassington with us. All in a...
