Javea ~ 6th - 13th March

We arrived late in the afternoon on the Monday and straight away met up with a number of friends we have met here over the years, which was lovely. Steve and Marina had also arrived a little bit before us, although they were not around when we arrived. After setting up, we headed off into town to get something to eat. The first restaurant we came to, which happened to be an Indian, Steve and Marina were in. So we joined them for dinner. I mean it had been a whole 2 or 3 days since we'd last seen them 😄.

Tuesday, we popped round to see John and Pat and then headed off into town just to have a wander and see what's new. We took a stroll down to the sea front and stopped for a little drink and tapas and met up with Steve and Marina.

Wednesday we met up with Steve and Marina and went to the old town, via the orange groves, to the indoor market bar for lunch. After this we headed to the port area where we stopped off at The Corner bar and then walked back to camp. Later, we met up with John, Pat, Steve, Vicki, Steve and Marina for dinner. All very confusing having 3 Steve's in the group. Anyhow, we had a very enjoyable evening.

Thursday, we headed off to Cap Prim, which is one of our favourite walks here. Whilst there we bumped into Tina and Kevin, walking their dog Pippa. After a chat with them, we carried on with our walk to the end of the pennisular.

On our way back, we stopped off for a drink and met up with Steve and Marina in the Geographic bar. We then headed off to another bar, Octopus, where we struggled to get them out of there as they were enjoying the music too much. We then went and had paella before heading back to camp. Steve and Marina are heading off tomorrow, starting their way back home.
Friday we did the lighthouse walk. This is a lovely walk and it pleases us every year we come to see the growth of the trees that have sprung up getting bigger, following the total destruction a fire caused some years back now. It's started to get pretty hot here, although a slight cool breeze is keeping it quite pleasant. Once we had dropped back down into the port, we stopped off at The Corner bar for a couple of cold soft drinks. Yes, soft drinks, it was quite hot by now and we were parched.
Saturday, we headed up to the old town, via the orange groves and sent to the market bar for some lunch. We then strolled back along the port area and along the front back to site. We then went and watched the rugby. Well that was a big disappointment!

Sunday we popped round to see John & Pat for a catch up. John hadn't been too well, but he was a lot better when we saw him. After this we headed off to Creme de la Creme, which isn't called that anymore, but hey, it's still more or less the same, for our breakfast. Most enjoyable. But it is so hot. The last couple of days have been ridiculously hot. So we didn't do much as we didn't have too much enthusiasm for anything. We did in the end go for a walk, Cala Barraca and thankfully by then it was quite shaded. This is a beautiful quiet cove, which was more or less deserted, which amazed us considering it was so hot. Once there, we stopped briefly at the bar for a drink and then headed on back.
Monday, we went out with John and Pat to Moraira. This is a lovely town not too far, which we often cycle to. This time we went in their car, so it was a very enjoyable ride there. We strolled along the front and then they took us to a little cove we've never been to before, with a lovely bar/restaurant right on the waters edge. It really was very beautiful. We had a most enjoyable lunch and stroll back. What a great end to our first week and hey, we've got 3 more weeks here 😊.
