Javea - 20th ~ 27th March

 Monday 20th, we were up bright and early and off through the orange groves to catch the bus to Denia. Once at Denia, we walked to the base of Montgo and started our walk around the mountain. It's a steady uphill to begin with and then levels out as you pass around the mountain, always keeping the sea to your left. It was a pleasant day and we met quite a few people surprisingly. We eventually arrived in Javea and then descended down into the old town and back through the orange groves to camp. Our friends, Lesley & Rob arrived today and so we met up with them down on the seafront for a drink and then some tapas. Hurrah, BBQ wednesdays are back on 😊.

Tuesday we took it easy after our walk yesterday and just pottered around going for a stroll along the seafront early afternoon.

Wednesday we strolled round to Rob & Lesleys. It was a glorious day for a BBQ. We had a great feast, as we always do, then when the sun went low, we headed inside and got the cards out. What a great day, good food and company. Oh and a little drink or two as well 😄
Thursday, a bit of a quiet day, we went for a stroll along the seafront. In the evening, we went out to dinner with John and Pat, Steve and Vicki as John and Pat are leaving Saturday.

Friday, we met up with Rob and Lesley and went to the Market bar for tapas. After this, we strolled down to the port area and stopped at the corner bar. After this, we went back to Rob and Lesley's for the inevitable game of cards.
Saturday, Steve and I cycled to Denia, taking the off road route, that we've not done for a long time. It's quite a bumpy cycle path but evenutally runs along a golf course and then into Denia. We stopped for some lunch down by the marina and then cycled back to Javea on a more direct route on the back road. It was a very hot day and very exhausting.

Sunday, after our usual breakfast at Creme de la Creme, we headed for a walk along the promanarde, but it was too hot really. We had arranged to meet up with Lesley and Rob, so we wandered over to their place and had a game of boules, but yet again, it was too hot. So we took a stroll into the port and stopped for a late lunch. After this, we headed back to Lesley's and Robs and the cards came out 😊

Granada 3rd - 10th March

  So here we are in Granada. We are about 10 miles outside of the city, up in the Guejar Sierra. This is the view from our campsite, looking over the mountains, some of which still have snow on the top. It's surprisingly wam here for this time of year. Normally, the weather has been either too cold or wet, or both!  We are here for a week to do some walking. This is a new site for us, although we have in the past visited Granada itself. It's pretty remote here, with not a lot going on other than lots of goats everywhere. That makes me happy. It's pretty quiet too but thankfully the site has a mini shop and a bar with restaurant, which has an open log fire 😊. Tuesday we decided to visit the local viallage, taking the scenic route there, which meant going up and around and dropping into the village walking down to the main square. Navajas ~ 6th - 17th February 2025

So here we are again. Our first stop off the ferry. It's a littlle cooler than usual, but hey, the sun is shinning and it's great to be here again. We've met up with our friends, Marina & Steve. It was planned, but we literally pulled up right behind them. Couldn't plan that if you tried. So of course once we got ourselves settled, we headed for the restaurant for food and wine! Friday, a leisurely stroll to the waterfalls and on towards Segorbe, stopping at the ford. It was a pleasant stroll and just nice to get out in some warm weather. Saturday, we walked up behind the campsite. It's a bit of a struggle to get to the top, but we took our time and got there. We followed the route through orchards full of blossom and down to the resevoir, which is a lot fuller than it was last year. We then followed the laveda walk back into Navajas. A lovely walk. Haro - April 2025

So here we are, our last stop before catching the ferry home. It's a long drive here, so we arrived quite late, but as soon as we got ourselves sorted, we were off out up into the square to stretch our legs and get something to eat. Naturally, we went to our favourite bar here, Bar Beethoven. You know what, it's great when you turn up a year later and you get a warm reception. We were told that we are now regulars 😊. Tuesday we decided to take it a bit easy and so we took a stroll along the river to the next village, Brinas but unfortunately they were working on the bridge, so we turned around and picked up the via verde in the other direction, following the river still. We had a very pleasant walk. The water levels here are certainly high. We know that Spain has had a very wet winter and fortunately, we've managed to avoid a lot of the rain, just had a couple of wet days on the trot, mind you, they were seriously wet days, raining non stop.
