Javea ~ 14th - 20th March

Tuesday 14th March, we decided to cycle to Granadella. It was a lovely day and the cycle ride, whilst beautiful is somewhat taxing especially if you've not cycled recently. It is a gradual uphill ride with the final 3k in a whirl of down hill freewheeling. As we descended to the beach, the scent from the pine trees, wild rosemary and other fauna was lovely. We arrived at the beach, settled down and had a picnic lunch and just relaxed for a while. We always go for a wonder along the little paths that straddle the cove. It's so lovely here.

Wednesday, we decided to do a gentle walk, up to the chapel at the top of the hill in town. It gives a nice view over Javea and out to sea. After this, we strolled to the food market and had lunch there, then ambled back along the front. In the evening we went to a, new to us, Chinese restaurant with John & Pat, Steve & Vicki. We had a lovely evening, great food and company ๐Ÿ˜Š.

Thursday, we decided to do the lighthouse walk again. Yuck, this time I think we saw a snake quickly slither into the growth. We did stop at our normal place for a picnic lunch, where a little kitten kept it's distance but sat by us in the fauna, meowing every now and then. Rather a kitten any day to a snake! We continued our walk ending in the Port area, where we stopped for light refreshments at the corner bar and then headed on home.

Friday, we decided to cycle to a couple of the view points just outside of Javea. As always, it's uphill to get out of Javea, so pretty hard work but the views from Cap Negre and Cap Ambolla are pretty spectacular. Cap Negre gives a wonderful view looking back over Javea, whereas Cap Ambolla looks out to sea and the coast line towards Granadella. And of course, it's down hill virtually all the way back into Javea ๐Ÿ˜.

Saturday we had lunch down on the seafront and then had a stroll upto the port area and back through the orange groves. We then watched the Rugby, which was a little disappointing, but better than last weeks game. It was about 8pm when we headed down, with Tina and Kev, to the seafront as it is the Arenal Blues festival this weekend, with a coule of bands playing each night. We watched The Fabulous Blue Shakers, who were pretty good. A lovely atmosphere down by the beach. All very enjoyable.
Sunday, we took a quick stroll down to Calla Barraca, which was quite busy, but still an enjoyable walk to the little cove. After this, we met up with John and Pat and went for lunch. A most pleasant day.
