Another week in Jávea

So Monday was a nice day and we decided to walk to Cap Prim. I'd like to say it's one of our favourite walks, but to be honest, we enjoy them all. Upon returning to site, we met up with Tony, Rita and Zac for drinks and nibbles, all very pleasant.

Tuesday we headed off with Tony, Rita and Zac and did the Cala Blanca walk, which takes you down to a small cove with little white cottages on the beach, we're guessing that at some point they used to be fishermans cottages. However, the beach was really quite busy, which was a bit of a shock for us as normally, there are not many people around. However, it's half term, so the place in general is more crowded. We then headed off to Cap Prim with Tony and then caught up with Rita and Zac and headed back to camp.

Wednesday was a nice relaxing day and we spent it with Tony and Rita, who yet again, provided us with a lovely curry. A most enjoyable day, just chilling, eating and drinking with friends. What more could you want.


Thursday we met up with our friends Rob and Lesley and went to the market bar, one of our favourite haunts for tapas. We then ventured down to a new bar that has opened up on the jetty down on the beach. This was very pleasant. After a couple of drinks we then headed off to a bar for some tapas and a couple more drinks before heading back home. A most enjoyable day. 

Friday wasn't such a great day and we headed off at lunchtime to a tapas bar down on the seafront. Back at the van, we appear to have a wren who is hell bent on banging on our front windscreen. It's getting pretty annoying as it is doing it constantly. I'm sure that it's going to do itself an injury at some point with all that head banging 😀

Saturday, sports day! Steve headed off to meet up with Rob to watch the Leeds Spurs match (Rob & Lesley are avid Leeds supporters). I headed off to the Irish bar to watch Scotland France and then Steve joined me for the England Wales match. 

Sunday started off a bit wet and windy. Usually we go out for breakfast but the weather really wasn't too good and also Tony and Rita were heading off. It brightened up later and so we went for a stroll to the old town and the port, where we stopped for some lunch and then walked along the seafront before heading back home. We bumped into some friends, and went back to their place for a couple of drinks. By now the sun was out and it was a lovely afternoon.

Granada 3rd - 10th March

  So here we are in Granada. We are about 10 miles outside of the city, up in the Guejar Sierra. This is the view from our campsite, looking over the mountains, some of which still have snow on the top. It's surprisingly wam here for this time of year. Normally, the weather has been either too cold or wet, or both!  We are here for a week to do some walking. This is a new site for us, although we have in the past visited Granada itself. It's pretty remote here, with not a lot going on other than lots of goats everywhere. That makes me happy. It's pretty quiet too but thankfully the site has a mini shop and a bar with restaurant, which has an open log fire 😊. Navajas ~ 6th - 17th February 2025

So here we are again. Our first stop off the ferry. It's a littlle cooler than usual, but hey, the sun is shinning and it's great to be here again. We've met up with our friends, Marina & Steve. It was planned, but we literally pulled up right behind them. Couldn't plan that if you tried. So of course once we got ourselves settled, we headed for the restaurant for food and wine! Friday, a leisurely stroll to the waterfalls and on towards Segorbe, stopping at the ford. It was a pleasant stroll and just nice to get out in some warm weather. Saturday, we walked up behind the campsite. It's a bit of a struggle to get to the top, but we took our time and got there. We followed the route through orchards full of blossom and down to the resevoir, which is a lot fuller than it was last year. We then followed the laveda walk back into Navajas. A lovely walk. Haro - April 2025

So here we are, our last stop before catching the ferry home. It's a long drive here, so we arrived quite late, but as soon as we got ourselves sorted, we were off out up into the square to stretch our legs and get something to eat. Naturally, we went to our favourite bar here, Bar Beethoven. You know what, it's great when you turn up a year later and you get a warm reception. We were told that we are now regulars 😊. Tuesday we decided to take it a bit easy and so we took a stroll along the river to the next village, Brinas but unfortunately they were working on the bridge, so we turned around and picked up the via verde in the other direction, following the river still. We had a very pleasant walk. The water levels here are certainly high. We know that Spain has had a very wet winter and fortunately, we've managed to avoid a lot of the rain, just had a couple of wet days on the trot, mind you, they were seriously wet days, raining non stop.
