The Cleveland Way ~ Whitby

After a combined rest day and move day to Whitby, we caught the bus  on Monday to Saltburn by the Sea to continue The Cleveland Way. Having left the moors behind, we will now walk along the coast. The day started off with a bit of a cool breeze, however, as the day continued along the coast, it brightend up considerably. We descended down to Staithes, which is a beautiful coastal village, where we stopped for an ice cream and then continued on up to the cliff top to the pretty village of Runswick Bay. Once we got to the heart of the village, we were able to get a quick drink in before catching the bus back to Sandsend, where we were staying. Todays walk was a reasonably short walk, considering all the other days walking. The Cleveland Way ~ June 2025

Week 1 - Osmotherley We met up with our ICA friends in Osmotherley, to walk The Cleveland Way. We planned to be in Osmotherley for the first week, being a central base for our walks on the North Yorkshire Moors. Naturally, we all met up and had a 'Welcome' meal in one of the local pubs, which was very enjoyable. It's a great way to get catch up with everyone and also, to meet a new couple who joinned our group recently. We are a small group of just 5 motorhomes, making 10 walkers in total, which was a very managable number. So here we are, on our first day, with the minibus taking us to Helmsley, a pretty little village, for the start of our 109 mile walk. Initially across the Yorkshire Moors and then along the coast to finish in Filey.
