El Berro ~ 17th - 24th February 2025

  So here we are, El Berro. It's good to be here too. Lots of walks planned in this beautiful mountainous area of Spain, in-land from Mercia. Tuesday we headed straight off for a walk, one that we know well. It's a tough old walk, but very enjoyable. We are continuously climbing and then, after a picnic stop, return to the village via a river bed, that is usually dry. We have known it to be wet. Spring has really arrived here, the trees are out in beautiful blossom, pinks and whites. It really is very beautiful. Wednesday, we headed off to do the tunnel walk, as we fondly refer to it. We end up on an old railway line, goodness knows what it was doing here, as it's short and sweet, but has a tunnel before the end of the line. Although you can see the light at the end of the tunnel, it's still quite dark in middle and the ground is rough under foot, so you have to be careful not to fall. Navajas ~ 6th - 17th February 2025

So here we are again. Our first stop off the ferry. It's a littlle cooler than usual, but hey, the sun is shinning and it's great to be here again. We've met up with our friends, Marina & Steve. It was planned, but we literally pulled up right behind them. Couldn't plan that if you tried. So of course once we got ourselves settled, we headed for the restaurant for food and wine! Friday, a leisurely stroll to the waterfalls and on towards Segorbe, stopping at the ford. It was a pleasant stroll and just nice to get out in some warm weather. Saturday, we walked up behind the campsite. It's a bit of a struggle to get to the top, but we took our time and got there. We followed the route through orchards full of blossom and down to the resevoir, which is a lot fuller than it was last year. We then followed the laveda walk back into Navajas. A lovely walk.
