El Berro ~ 17th - 24th February 2025

So here we are, El Berro. It's good to be here too. Lots of walks planned in this beautiful mountainous area of Spain, in-land from Mercia. Tuesday we headed straight off for a walk, one that we know well. It's a tough old walk, but very enjoyable. We are continuously climbing and then, after a picnic stop, return to the village via a river bed, that is usually dry. We have known it to be wet. Spring has really arrived here, the trees are out in beautiful blossom, pinks and whites. It really is very beautiful. Wednesday, we headed off to do the tunnel walk, as we fondly refer to it. We end up on an old railway line, goodness knows what it was doing here, as it's short and sweet, but has a tunnel before the end of the line. Although you can see the light at the end of the tunnel, it's still quite dark in middle and the ground is rough under foot, so you have to be careful not to fall.
