Jávea ~ Feb - March

So here we are in Jávea. It's good to be here and catch up with a number of people we've not been able to see for a couple of years. Most people are here, although a few have not been able to make it for one reason or another. The sun is shining and it is relatively warm, more so than being at home. So our first evening we went down to the seafront just to get a feel for the place again. The next day we went to the old town and up into the food market where we of course, stopped for tapas and caught up with the people who run the place. Tony, Rita and Zac arrived today and got settled in whilst we had a game of boules and then we all took a stroll down and around the beach area.  Wednesday saw us up at the port area, where we stopped for lunch.  Thursday we went to the outdoor market and then had lunch in the food market. Navajas, Spain ~ February 2022

Hurrah, we have at last got to Spain. Warm, sunny days, although very cold at night are most welcomed. We came straight to Navajas as our first stop. Have had some lovely walks, the first being up to see the almond blossom in the upper reaches of Navajas. Our friends Tony and Rita, along with their dog Zac, joined us for their first adventure to Spain in their new motorhome.  We did the usual walks, along the river to Segorbi, along the via verde to Jerica and up and around the old quarry. We stopped for tapas along the way. Steve and I had our annual trip to Valencia, which was great, always discovering new places we've not come across before. This time it was the very ornate food market.  This year, we also came across red squirrels at the campsite, which I don't think we've seen before. They had the tufty ears too and a cream tummy. Very cute. We spent a lovely week, walking, eating and drinking. And one day, Rita cooked us a lovely curry. Gosh, we needed to do all that ...
